“Sexual assault is a terrible problem here in Passaic County, just as it is throughout our nation,” said Quarticha Perkins, Director of Victim Services. “In Passaic County, the number of survivors receiving sexual assault and domestic violence services during the past year have totaled 1,667. The PCWC staff are here 24/7 to answer our hotline, provide comfort and counseling, and refer people to emergency shelter or whatever services they need.”

“Coming out to the event is a great way to have fun and show support for survivors of sexual assault and the services we provide,” said Kathy Taylor, Supervisor of the Outreach Center. “The more people who know about our hotline and the other services we provide, the more likely it is that those who need them will find them.”

“My teenage daughter and I went to the run last year and had a great time!” said Julie Hanley. “It was a beautiful setting with enthusiastic volunteers and I was glad my daughter was exposed to the sexual assault education messages that PCWC had posted on colorful signs along the route.”

PCWC provides a 24/7 hotline, 973-881-1450, counseling for survivors including men, women and children, and referral to the Center’s emergency shelter or transitional housing if needed. PCWC is under the umbrella of NJAC, a private 501(c)(3) social justice organization. PCWC is Passaic County’s lead state-designated agency dedicated to assisting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to build violence-free lives, and to reduce domestic violence through community education initiatives.
