PATERSON, NJ- A Passaic man allegedly carrying 350 glassines of heroin with the intent to sell them was arrested by members of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday.

According to statement by Passaic County Sheriff Richard H Berdnik, detectives from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Narcotics were conducting surveillance in the area of Carroll Street and Harrison Street when Nygeir Q. Barrett came into view.

Detectives, the report stated, observed the suspect arrive in a black BMW, park, and proceed to walk thru the parking lot of Incca Housing Complex. While being watch Barrett allegedly took an item that detectives recognized as a bundle of heroin from his jacket’s inner pocket and hold it on his right hand. 

Detectives immediately detained Barrett who voluntarily surrendered and, upon further search, found the additional heroin and $75 in currency before taking him into custody.
