Paterson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Offers Scholarships

PATERSON, NJ - The Paterson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has announced the opportunity for high school students to compete to win financial, merit, academic or book award scholarships. The application deadline is April 26, 2013.

Scholarship criteria include that the recipient must be an African-American female high school student, a graduating senior from a Passaic County high school, have a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, show proof of having been accepted to an accredited college or university at the time the scholarship is cliams, and submit a completed application by April 26, 2013.

To apply, applicants must submit a completed application postmarked no later than April 26, 2013.  The application must include a completed application form, an acceptance letter to an accredited college or university, a typed 250 word community service essay, a typed 250-500 word personal essay, an official transcript, three letters of recommendation including one from a counselor, teacher or school administrator; one personal recommendation from someone other than a relative; and one from someone verifying public service and/or volunteerism.
