PATERSON, NJ - 232 Paterson children will start school next week with brand new shoes, thanks to an effort by local non-profit Paterson Cares. Children also received book bags and school supplies donated by Paterson Parents Engaging Parents.

Saying she “borrowed” the vision from Pastor Jamal Bryant from New Birth Missionary Church in Lithonia, Georgia, Valerie Freeman, one of the organization’s founders told TAPinto Paterson that “without the help of friends of Paterson Cares it would not have been possible.”

The drive, launched in early August, culminated with the giveaway on Saturday which Freeman called “a wonderful day.”
