PATERSON, NJ - The union that represents the more than 3,000 education professionals within Paterson’s public schools has announced the awarding of scholarships to two students through the The Paterson Education Association (P.E.A.) Philanthropic Fund.
Given annually to students that exhibit academic excellence, and have a desire to the field of education, the scholarships are funded by voluntary individual contributions made by members of the Paterson Education Association.
This year’s scholarships of $1,000 each, made available to be used by the graduating students at the college or university of their choosing, have been awarded to:
The Peter A. Tirri Scholarship ($1,000) awarded to Gianfranco Romani (JFK Stem Academy)
Mildred L. Wright Scholarship ($1,000) awarded to Ms. Adriana Taylor (EHS CAHTS)
“Whether it’s engaging in virtual learning or awarding scholarships our commitment to Paterson’s students goes well beyond the classroom,” John McEntee, president of the PEA told TAPinto Paterson. “We are proud of all that Gianfranco and Adriana have already achieved and look forward to them joining us on the frontline of education soon.”
