PATERSON, NJ- An early morning fire at 466 East 22nd Street was safely extinguished by members of the Paterson Fire Department on Tuesday, but not before it displaced 21 residents from their homes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
According to officials and others on the scene the fire was reported at approximately 5:00 a.m.
With smoke showing from the first floor on their quick arrival firefighters set about evacuating all residents safely and knocking back the flames.
The fire, which consumed two apartments, with others being damaged by smoke and water, was brought under control in less than two hours.
