PATERSON, NJ - Paterson FMBA Locals 2 and 202, the unions that represent Paterson’s firefighters and fire officers, are again extending their efforts to serve the community beyond fighting fires.

In honor of Autism Awareness Month, the unions, with the support of Fire Chief Brian McDermott, have teamed up with the St. Joseph’s Foundation to sell commemorative T-shirts raising funds in support of the Binder Autism Center.

According to the Centers for Disease Control Autism impacts an estimated 1 in 59 children in the United States today. The Binder Autism Center provides families the experience of a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis of their children, as well as provide critical support services.
