PATERSON, NJ- A traffic infraction led to a Paterson man’s arrest on several drugs related charges, including those related to intended distribution, on Monday.

According to a statement by Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik, Markese Peeples, 31, was a passenger in a 2005 Nissan Altima pulled over by Sheriff’s Officer Eric Blessing after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign or use a turn signal at East 30th Street and 10th Avenue.

Upon activating his overhead emergency lights Blessing observed the passenger of the vehicle, later identified as Peeples, moving in his seat. Upon pulling the vehicle over, Peeples was asked to empty his pockets and five glassines of suspected heroin stamped “FOR THE VEIN” fell out of his front pocket.

Peeples was advised he’d be placed under arrest, and upon handing over an additional 146 glassines of the same substance with the same marking, 35 small green pills suspected to be Xanax, and 40 small while pills suspected to be Suboxone, as well as $458, was handcuffed and transported to Passaic County Jail.

Such as people in the armed services or those who are away on vacation.

This year’s municipal election will be one for the history books.
