PROSPECT PARK, NJ - A Paterson man was arrested by Propsect Park Police Wednesday in connection with a string of car burglaries victimizing half a dozen Prospect Park residents over the course of a month authorities said.

Detective Sergeant Walter Richmond and Detective Arthur Canestrino allege thay they were able to identify Justin Tapia, 20, by inspecting surveillance camera footage from different locations within the month.  Once the detectives were able to determine the suspect's identity, he was arrested at his place of residence, whereupon a search was carried out.  Within his residence were unspecified items which connected Tapia to car-related crimes in the area, authorities say.

Tapia was transported to the Passaic County Jail where he awaits an initial hearing on six counts of theft and six counts of burglary.
