Paterson Man Critical After Another Shooting on Rosa Parks Blvd.


PATERSON, NJ - A 24-year-old city man was in critical condition after being shot early Friday morning in the latest incident during a violent last couple of months in the same Rosa Parks Blvd. neighborhood.

According to Paterson police, the victim was shot near the corner of Rosa Parks Blvd. and 16th Avenue just after midnight on Friday morning. Patrolmen were dispatched after being prompted by the ShotSpotter, but they were unable to locate the victim until, shortly after, a shooting victim arrived at St. Joseph's Medical Center via private vehicle.

The victim, who was shot in the chest, was taken to surgery and remains in critical condition at the hospital.

It was the fourth shooting incident on or near Rosa Parks Blvd. in the last two months, and the second in as many days. On Thursday morning, a 30-year-old Paterson man shot in the torso shortly before 5 a.m. near the corner of Rosa Parks Blvd. and Hamilton Avenue.
