PATERSON, NJ - A 29-year-old Paterson man wanted in connection with a September 24 shooting was recently extradited to New Jersey from Georgia where he had been in jail since October 29.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, Keith Brinkley is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree; Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Second Degree; and Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose, Second Degree, and faces up to 20 years in state prison.

On the night of the incident in question members of the Paterson Police Department reported to the area of Pearl and Carroll Street at approximately 6:28 p.m. Upon arrival officers found evidence of a crime scene but no victim. A short while later a 31-year-old Belleville man arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
