PATERSON, NJ - An investigation by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crime Against Children Task Force into videos files of child sexual abuse that were uploaded to an online cloud service led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Paterson man on Tuesday. 

According to Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik, detectives identified Douglas Mauricio Rivera-Alvarenga as the person responsible for uploading the aforementioned material to the cloud service. In addition to the arrest detectives seized several computer devices pertaining to the investigation that will be forensically examined for additional evidence.

Rivera-Alvarenga has been charged with two counts each of maintaining child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
