PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ - A 38-year-old Paterson man is dead after jumping off the roof of a building in the area of Cianci Street Wednesday, law enforcement officials have confirmed.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, the incident began as a domestic dispute during which Esaul Morales assaulted a 26-year-old female with a knife, sending her to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in critical condition.
When members of the Paterson Police Department arrived on the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. they found the victim with the stab wounds and the alleged assailant lying on the ground deceased.
While the investigation remains active and ongoing, no additional suspects are being sought in relation to this incident.
