PATERSON, NJ - A 25-year-old Paterson man became the city’s eighth murder victim of 2019 following a Thursday shooting.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald, members of the Paterson Police Department were called to the area of 125 Presidential Boulevard on a report of shots fired at approximately 7:01 p.m. 

Upin arrival, officers discovered three victims:

Santol Lantigua, 38, Jersey City

Shadire Scott, 19, Paterson

Xavier McRay, 25, Paterson.

All three men, suffering from gunshot wounds, were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center by Paterson Fire Department EMS for treatment.While Scott was treated and released, and Lantiguais recovering in stable condition, McCray succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead just after 9:00 p.m.
