PATERSON, NJ- A 20-year-old Paterson man is dead after being shot just outside of St. Joseph’s University Medical Center on Wednesday.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 73 Hospital Plaza at approximately 5:38 p.m.

Upon arrival officers discovered two victims, Brian Olivio and David Torres, both 20 years old from Paterson, with apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where Olivio succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased. Torres is in stable condition.

The incident comes following a Tuesday shooting that brought the total number of gunshot victims to six in less than 48 hours.
