Paterson Man Shot in Drive-By Incident Monday Night


PATERSON, NJ - An 18-year-old city man was shot in the back by a shooter inside a sedan on the corner of 12th Avenue and Rosa Parks Blvd. Monday night.

According to Lt. Patrick Murray, the victim was a passenger in a vehicle that was being parked on 12th Avenue when a second vehicle pulled up and numerous shots were fired, striking the victim once, at around 7:30 p.m. The victim told police he thought the shots came from a white sedan.

The victim went into a nearby residence to seek help and was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center for a gunshot wound in his back. He was treated and released.

Detectives are canvassing the area for possible witnesses and area surveillance footage. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at (973) 321-1342.
