Paterson Man’s Taxi Ride Ends With Trip to Passaic County Jail

PATERSON, NJ- An 18 year old Paterson man was arrested while traveling in a taxi that was stopped on Broadway near Auburn Street during the early hours of Sunday by Passaic County Sheriff’s Officer Jason Michaels.

According to a report issued by Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik, Tawan Grier was observed in the rear seat of the taxi in possession of a clear plastic bag containing several small zip-lock baggies of suspected marijuana. A further search turned up another clear bag containing suspected glassine envelopes of heroin and small “buckets” of crack-cocaine.

All of the suspected narcotics were field tested yielding positive results, the report states. Grier was transported to the Passaic County Jail and now faces several charges including related to the possession and intent to distribute of the drugs.
