Paterson Police Seek Public's Help to Solve Shooting

PATERSON, NJ - The Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit has released the following communication requesting assistance from the public in solving the shooting of three victims on Sept. 21 on Park Avenue and East 18th Street.

The Paterson Police Department Ceasefire Unit is asking for  assistance from the public with information regarding a shooting incident which occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, September 21.

The suspect in this incident approaches the intersection of Park Avenue and East 18 Street on a bicycle, and begins firing a handgun within the intersection, striking the three victims. After the incident, the suspect continues eastbound on Park Avenue, before getting off of the bicycle and entering an apartment building located on Park Avenue between East 22 and East 23 Streets.

We would appreciate any and all assistance the residents of our City could provide in bringing this investigation to a successful conclusion. Anyone with information regarding this incident, or information regarding the suspect, is urged to contact the Paterson Police Department at 973-321-1342, or the Paterson Police Confidential TIPS line at 973-523-TIPS (8477). Detectives Rick Ferreira and Carlos Charon are assigned to the investigation.
