PATERSON, NJ- When the PTO hosted a movie night on School 25’s front lawn in May, Khouloud Abdelhadi, the Paterson School District’s parent and community coordinator for both that school and the Dr. Hani Awadallah School, said that using the city’s schools as gathering places for families in the community “helps parents help their children excel and reach their potential.
Later this week the PTOs at both schools will host events to celebrate the end of the academic year. Both events, Abdelhadi told TAPinto Paterson, will be opportunities to “strengthen relationships” and “foster open lines of communication” between parents and schools administrators.
On Friday, School 25’s PTO will host a “Family Fun Day” featuring face painting, a bubble show, as well as games and prizes for all ages. The event, which runs from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. would not be possible, Abdelhadi said, without the support of sponsors that donated over $4,000.
Sponsors for the event at School 25 are: Al Abdelaziz , CureMed Pharmacy, Family Care/Women’s Care, Gaeta Recycling, Hamdan Realty Group , Hudson River Radiology Center, PBA Local 197, The Law Offices of Abdelhadi & Associates, and Wize Guys Pizzeria.
The Hani Awadallah School PTO will host a “Family Fun Fair & Bazaar” at Brandeis Field on Marshal Street on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. All of the activities including a bouncy castle and inflatable slide will be available at low cost, and attendees will also have the chance to win prizes throughout the day. Wristbands for the activities are available prior to Saturday for just $5 and will be sold at the gate for $7.
