PATERSON, N.J.- School official resigns after lacking credentials to complete the $148,000 per year position.
Adriane Esquilin quit as the school district’s human resources director two weeks ago, Board of Education President Christopher Irving said.
School board members voiced their concerns to Superintendent Donnie Evans that they did not think Esquilin was the right person for the job, Irving said.
Esquilin resigned her $148,000 a year job after reports revealed she lacked the appropriate credentials that were required for the job description, according to the Paterson Press.
According to the job description posted by the Paterson Public Schools website, the district’s requirements for the school district’s human resources director’s job include that the person in the position have a New Jersey administrative certificate, a Master’s degree and five years’ experience as a teacher or counselor.
According to Esquilin’s resume, she lacked the requirements for the job that were listed in the job description.
“When I saw her credentials and what she lacked, I literally almost fell off my chair,” said John McEntee Jr., president of the Paterson Education Association.
The district’s labor relations director Luis Rojas, has been chosen to fill in the open position of the school district’s human resources director, according to Paterson Press.
