TOTOWA, NJ - A Paterson woman was struck and killed by a hit and run driver on Monday.

Police responded to the area of 392 Union Blvd. in Totowa at about 5:18 p.m. on a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian, according to a statement issued by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Robert Coyle. 

First responders upon arrival discovered a woman, who was later identified as Grace Strazza, 69, of Paterson, had been struck by a vehicle as she was crossing Union Boulevard, the report noted. Police say that the vehicle that struck the woman had left the scene before police arrived.

Strazza was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson where she died at about 6 p.m.
