Paterson's Edwin Named to Big East Honor Roll

 

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

PATERSON, NJ - Seton Hall junior Fuquan Edwin, who played high school ball at Paterson Catholic, was named to the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

The 6-foot-6 swingman averaged 20.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in guiding the Pirates to a pair of victories last week.  On Wednesday vs. Maine, Edwin scored 15 points to go with six rebounds and a game-high six steals.  On Sunday vs. Saint Peter's, he tallied a game-high 25 points on an efficient 10-for-14 shooting from the floor in addition to four rebounds and three assists.  The defending national champion in steals per game now has a BIG EAST best 19 so far this season.

Other weekly honors include:  Cincinnati's Sean Kilpatrick being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and St. John's JaKarr Sampson earning BIG EAST Rookie of the Week recognition.  Joining Edwin on the Honor Roll are Georgetown's Otto Porter, Louisville's Russ Smith, Rutgers' Eli Carter and St. John's D'Angelo Harrison..

Edwin and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 29 when they travel to LSU as part of the 2012 SEC/BIG EAST Challenge.  Game time is scheduled for 9:30 pm ET.
