PATERSON, NJ - The Silk City's Myles Mack and other members of Rutgers University' nationally ranked recruiting class will be suiting in the Verizon Fios Jersey Shore Basketball League this summer.

Mack and his Rutgers teammates will play under the umbrella of Stevens Gutter Cleaning when the league gets under way at St. Rose High School in Belmar during the week of June 20.

Over its four decades, the Jersey Shore league has featured more than 100 NBA players as well as countless college standouts from New Jersey and the surrounding area.

Mack played point guard for the USA Today national champion high school team at St. Anthony of Jersey City this past season after Paterson Catholic closed its doors. 

Mack averaged 15.2 points, 3.6 assists and 2.9 steals while shooting 49 percent this past season helping the Friars to a perfect 33-0 record.

 

Mack was named to four high school All-America teams - first team on 

Rise/2K Sports and ESPN Rise, a MaxPreps fifth team All-America and a USA Today second team All-America.

This will be the first summer in several years that Rutgers players formed a team in the heralded Jersey Shore league.  Among those expected to play on the summer league team are Mack,  Eli Carter, Greg Lewis, Jerome Seagers, Derrick Randall, according to an Asbury Park Press story. Also, former McDonald's All-America and Kansas State transfer Wally Judge, sophomore off-guard Austin Carroll and junior power forward Austin Johnson are expected on the Rutgers team's roster.
