PATERSON, NJ - Paterson police are offering up to $500 for information that might lead to the location of a suspect in a jewelry store robbery in the city.

Lashan Mathis, 38, whose last known address was 169 22nd Ave. (second floor), is being sought after a jewelry store on Main Street was robbed at 12:40 p.m. Thursday. According to Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez, two black males entered the store and pointed a handgun at the saleswoman.

"The actors stole a large amount of jewelry and cash from the register," Rodriguez said. "The actors entered a black vehicle that was waiting outside and fled north on Main Street.

Mathis has been identified by witnesses and complaints have signed for robbery and weapons offenses against him. The second suspect who was seen on surveillance video holding a gun has not been identified yet.
