PATERSON, NJ – The city is considering adding a stop sign on Paxton Street at its intersection with Genesse Avenue in the 6th Ward.
The city council gave preliminary approval to an ordinance adding the stop sign at its meeting on September 28. A public hearing and final vote is scheduled for October 11.
Residents have complained about speeding and other safety problems created by vehicles drive on Paxton Street in that area, according to the ordinance. Traffic on Genesse Avenue already has a stop sign at the intersection.
