PATERSON, NJ – There will be a rally and march in support of plans to create the Great Falls National Historical Park on Saturday, starting at noon at city hall.

The march will be from city hall to the Great Falls, where a barbeque will follow.

The event is being run by the Great Falls Youth Corp. For more information, call 973-413-1600.

The city and federal government are engaged in negotiations to try to come up with agreement to create the national park that was authorized by President Barack Obama in 2009. The delays in the negotiations have some officials concerned that Paterson is in danger of losing the national park designation.
