PATERSON, NJ - A request for reduced bail by the alleged accomplice in the killing of an off-duty Newark detective in November has been denied, according to northjersey.com.

An attorney for 19-year-old Nashali Gadson had asked that her $1.5 million bail be reduced by about half, the story said. But Superior Court Assignment Judge Donald J. Volkert, Jr. denied that request.

The alleged shooter, Jerome Wright, 24,  is being held on $2.5 million bail. Wright allegedly shot and killed Michael Morgan Jr. Wright during a robbery while the off-duty detective was walking a dancer from Sunris strip club to her car. Authorities have not detailed Gadson's role in the killing.
