PATERSON, NJ- An investigation into illegal drug sales launched as a result of information from area residents led to five arrests on Wednesday. In addition to the arrests 24 grams of cocaine and nearly 6 pounds of marijuana were recovered along with various amounts of cannabis oil, THC edibles,a bag of Psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.

According to a statement by Police Director Jerry Speziale, the Paterson Police Department was advised of alleged illegal drug sales throughout the day, and busiest at night, at a residence located in the basement of 465 20th Avenue. Following an extensive investigation by the Narcotics Division a search warrant was executed at approximately 6:50 p.m. on the day of the arrests.

Ralph Hernandez, 39, Luis Fernandez, and Hector Fernandez, 68, all residents at the address face numerous charges related to the drug sales while Leo Meeker, 39, Pompton Lakes, and Gregory Arevalo, 36, were both arrested for possession of cocaine

“This administration will not tolerate any resident living in fear,” Director Speziale said in reference to concerns of retaliation raised by residents who made the reports.
