PATERSON, NJ – Passaic County will be hosting a hike along the Morris Canal Greenway on Sun., Sept. 16 from 10 am to 2 pm.
The hike will start at Lambert Castle and end at the Great Falls National Historical Park. The hike will feature a discussion of the history of the Silk City. The hike will go through Garret Mountain Reservation to New Street along the proposed route of the Morris Canal Greenway.
The remainder of the hike will be walking through the Great Falls Historic District, exploring Passaic County’s industrial heritage. This tour will be approximately four hours of moderate hiking on trails with some steep inclines and easy walking on sidewalks.
Parking is available at Lambert Castle. Bring water and lunch. No facilities are available. Only a downpour will cancel the hike.
