Sheriff Taking Applications For Summer Camp

Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said the “Quality of Life” detail was in response to resident’s complaints

PATERSON< NJ - Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik has announced applications are now available to request a spot in the 2011 Sheriff's
Summer Jr., Camp.  The program is run through the Sheriff's Office Division of Community Policing.

"The Sheriff's Summer Jr. Camp is an excellent opportunity for youngsters to learn about not only their community, but to also interact with law enforcement," said Berdnik.  "The camp is also an educational opportunity that will also be fun for the participants." 

According to Berdnik,  the camp is for Passaic County residents between the ages of 10 and 13. The two sessions are August 15th to the 19th and August 22nd to the 26th.  The program is at no charge, it's funded by the Passaic County Sheriff's Community Outreach Foundation, Inc, lunch and snacks will be provided.

The application to request the form is available at the Sheriff's Office webpage, at or call at (973) 389-5920.  Upon receipt of the
request form,  the applicant's name will be placed on a list to reserve a spot for the program  Those who will be enrolled will be notified by the Sheriff's Office, Community Policing Division.

"The Sheriff's Office is looking forward to another successful Summer Camp program,'' Berdnik said. "It will be a great opportunity for many of the young people of our county to interact with the men and women of the Sheriff's Office."
