Suspect Apprehended In Recent Non-Fatal Shooting Incident

Victim: 19 Year Old Male

Injury: Gunshot Wound / Chest


On Monday 2/27, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Paterson Police patrol units responded to a residence on East 18 Street on a reported shooting. On arrival, officers located a 19 year old male with a gunshot wound to the chest area. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. As a result of an investigation conducted by Detectives Michael Quinones and Prosecutor’s Detective Ricardo Ferreira of the Ceasefire Unit,, Christian Rodriguez was identified as the alleged actor in this incident. Working with members of the Newark F.B.I. Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force, Rodriguez was located at a residence on Parker Street in Newark in the early hours this morning, and taken into custody without incident. Rodriguez has been charged with Attempted Murder and Weapons Offenses, and will be detained at the Passaic County Jail pending initial judicial proceedings.
