Shooting Suspect Arrested, Charged with Attempted Murder



PATERSON, NJ - Paterson police Monday arrested Tyree Singletary, a 21 year-old city resident, in connection with a March 26 shooting near 10th Ave. and East 26th St.

The shooting victim is currently recovering from his injuries, but remains hospitalized. Singletary will be detained pending an initial court appearance, where his bail will be determined. The motive for the incident is still under investigation.

The office of Detective/Lt. Patrick Murray of Paterson's Ceasefire Unit credited citizens of Paterson with being "extremely helpful in determining Tyree Singletary’s whereabouts, and Detectives are extremely grateful for their assistance."

Singletary has been charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm for Unlawful Purpose, and Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons
