Lt. Richard Reyes said Wybolt knew the victim, 25-year-old Conrad Bishop of West New York, but he would not describe the nature of their relationship nor disclose the suspected motive for the killing. Reyes also declined to say whether investigators believe anyone else was involved in the killing.

"It's still an ongoing investigation,'' Reyes said.

Bishop was shot multiple times while sitting inside his parked car near the corner of Market and E.29th streets on January 31. H was waiting while a female friend attended the wake of a Paterson woman, Chrismely A. Hidalgo, who had been found dead in Newark several days earlier. Bishop was able to get out of the car and walk towards the funeral home, but collapsed in the street outside.

The arrest in Jersey City was handled by Paterson Police Detectives Ralph Fermin, Roberto Mercado, and Brendan Stapleton, along with Det. Marco Alliano of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and members of the US Marshals Violent Crime / Fugitive Task Force.
