Suspect in July Shooting in Paterson Arrested Wednesday

PATERSON, NJ - Paterson police have arrested a city resident in connection with a shooting that took place 2 1/2 months ago.

Alexander Nieves, 21, was arrested Wednesday by the Paterson police in the area of Dale Avenue Paterson in connection with a shooting on July 5.

Nieves has been charged with first-degree attempted murder and other assault and weapons offenses.

The shooting incident at 36 Rosa Parks Boulevard left a 23-year-old male victim with a single gunshot wound. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.

Based on the investigation, Nieves was identified as one of the suspects in the shooting.
