PATERSON, NJ- Every room in the iconic Brownstone was packed on Wednesday as Paterson residents and supporters turned out to celebrate Mayor Andre Sayegh’s inauguration. Sayegh took office on July 1 following his election victory on May 8.

Offering his understanding that those gathered were there to celebrate, not hear speeches, Sayegh kept his remarks short, spending less than ten minutes on stage, with his wife Farhanna at his side, telling the audience that through a “team effort” the city’s best days would be ahead.

In order to achieve what he outlined in his platform throughout the campaign, including increased public safety and extensive economic development, Sayegh will, he said, relay on “unity, pride, and progress.”

“As long as I have a breath in my body,” Sayegh promised, “I am going to fight for Paterson.”
