Oliver B. Bomble, a gentleman of independent wealth, and his good friend Ocelot delve into the mystery of a mighty giant on a mission to set things straight in the world. The story is published in daily installments and will run until Election Day. All previous installments can be found below the current episode.
Professor Zicboq was sitting bent over his manuscript, listening with a museful smile to Barribal’s address as it came to life through a battery of sound transformers, bass amplifiers and other tricks of the trade. The wall of sound was so massive that Squire Bomble felt confident he would reach the studio undetected, as provided for in Ocelot’s plan.
“Well, well,” murmured the scientist, as he followed the intruder’s movements through a strategically placed mirror on his desk. “An interesting development and a most intriguing challenge to the image of the almighty giant. But how will the public respond to it, I’m curious to know.”
That’s what it all came down to, of course. For now, the viewing audience was treated only to the visage of the great leader himself, as he threatened severe punishments for a range of infractions. Jobes, the former manservant, was following the program from a rented room and was duly impressed with each and every promise made.
“It’s clear that we’re talking about a true giant here,” he muttered admiringly. “There’s a certain resemblance to that dwarf I met on the street today, but this here is such an immense personality! Such stature, if I may be so bold.”
At that moment his breath stopped. The door to the throne room opened slowly but surely, and the familiar figure of his one-time employer worked his way through the entrance, albeit with some difficulty owing to his ample proportions.
