PATERSON, NJ - A 26-year-old Paterson man is dead after a Thursday shooting in the area of Lawrence Street, law enforcement officials have said.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at approximately 9:01 p.m.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered evidence of the shooting at the crime scene, and moments later they were notified that a victim had just arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center by way of a private vehicle.

The victim, Twyshon Depew, had suffered a gunshot wound and was admitted for emergency treatment before succumbing to his wounds and being pronounced deceased at approximately 11:01 p.m.
