PORTLAND, ME - Portland education officials are planning a trip to Paterson later this month as they decided whether to name Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard as their new schools superintendent, according to a story on The Forecaster, a Maine news site.
Vanden Wyngaard, also known as Dr. V., is Paterson's deputy schools superintendent and is one of two finalists in Portland's search for its next superintendent.
A Portland group already has visited the City of Brotherly Love to evaluate the other finalist, Emmanuel Caulk, an assistant superintendent in Philadelphia, the story said.
The future of Paterson's school hierarchy is in limbo. State-appointed suoerintendent Donnie Evans' contract expires in August and officials in Trenton have not yet said whether he will be reappointed.
