PATERSON, NJ- Market Street was transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday for Paterson’s annual Christmas Tree lighting event.

Festivities included floats hosted by several local organizations, opportunities to send letters to the North Pole, a visit from and pictures with Santa, performances from local youth, a trackless train ride and more.

The opportunity to meet local firefighters and police officers while posing next to their vehicles for photos was a highlight for many children and adults alike.

Mayor Jane Williams-Warren led the countdown and turned the switch to applause from all gathered as the tree that stands in front of City Hall became illuminated.
