MONTCLAIR - Royal Scam-Steely Dan Cover Band will perform at Trumpet's Jazz Club in Montclair on June 13. Two sets will be played: 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. 

Playing more than 40 of Steely Dan’s masterpieces, the band has helped to keep the compositions of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, the spirit of jazz, rock, blues and the enthusiasm of fine musicianship alive in small clubs and major concert venues in the NY metropolitan area. The Royal Scam was started 21 years ago by founders Michael Caputo and Gino Amato, whose love for the music of Steely Dan has fueled the project and gained the respect and loyalty of many fans.

The Royal Scam has headlined and performed to sell out crowds at The Berks Jazz Festival for over 10 years, being on the same bill as artists like Dave Brubeck, George Benson, The Yellowjackets, Roberta Flack and many others. They have also performed at The Scranton Jazz Festival, Musikfest, The Bitter End, The Shell at Trump Marina, The China Club and Club Bene to name a few. The Royal Scam takes pride in performing the music of Steely Dan as close to the original recordings as possible. The band is delighted to be back at Trumpets.
