Two Street Robberies in Paterson Monday Night

PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating two robberies Monday night in the city.

At 9:45 p.m., a 21-year-old male from Clifton was mugged by two black males in their late 30s/early 40s, according to Lt. Bert Ribeiro, who said the incident occurred near 175 Broadway. The suspects pretended to have a badge, asked the victim if he was in the area to buy drugs, had him put his hands up against a wall and then stole his wallet and his cell phone before running from the scene.

At 10 p.m. near the intersection of 8th Ave. and E. 19th Street, a 26-year-old Hispanic male from Paterson was approached and then bumped by two black males in their late teens. Their physical contact caused the victim to drop his phone. The suspects took the phone, as well as $10 in cash, and ran off.
