PATERSON, NJ - The City Council has approved a $25,000 settlement of a lawsuit filed by Robert Veronelli, an employee at the Paterson Museum.

Veronelli said the money would go to pay his attorney's fees. Veronelli had been suspended, and briefly terminated, after he was involved in a fight with another city employee in 2006, but later was reinstated, officials said. Veronelli's lawsuit involved "alleged adverse employment actions taken against him,'' sadi the city council resolution authorizing the payment.

Half the payment will be made by the city and half by the Paterson Free Public Library.
