PATERSON, NJ - Facing an eight-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter, the Lady Ghosts of Eastside seemed headed for elimination Thursday night as they battled a tough east Orange squad.

But a spirited fourth-quarter Eastside comeback forced the game into overtime and the Lady Ghosts then prevailed, 46-42, to advance to the state finals in the Group 4 girls basketball tournament. The achievement is particularly stunning for a team that just two years ago won only a handful of games.

Eastside will play Rancocas Valley, ranked second in New Jersey by The Star-Ledger, in Sunday's Group 4 final. The winner will advance to the Tournament of Champions next week. In 2011, Rancocas Valley, which is in Burlington County, knocked off the Lady Knights of Kennedy in the finals.

Taylor Brown was Eastside's top scorer with 15, while Desirelle Salas added 13 and Nia Adams nine.
