PATERSON, NJ – City officials have advised drivers and residents that due to necessary replacement and reconstruction work to the road and rail bed of various train crossings traffic diversions will be necessary in the coming weeks. 

Operated by The New York, Susquehanna, and Western Railway Corporation, the crossings at Governor Street, 12th Avenue, and Godwin Avenue will be reconstructed individually, each expected to be closed for approximately five days. 

The crossings will be closed, and totally shut down to traffic, 24 hours a day during the project.

Expected closings are as follows:

 Governor Street

The roadway will be closed to traffic beginning at 7:00 am on Monday, August 26. It is anticipated the roadway will reopen on Friday, August 30.

12th Avenue

The roadway will be closed to traffic beginning at 7:00 am on Monday, September 9. It is anticipated the roadway will reopen on Friday, September 13.

Godwin Avenue

The roadway will be closed to traffic beginning at 7:00 am on Monday, September 16. It is anticipated the roadway will reopen on Friday, September 20.
