Dear Editor:

The recent reports of alleged voter fraud has put a black eye on the city of Paterson.

Granted, we are living in unprecedented times and circumstances because of COVID-19, however, it would have been prudent for Governor Phil Murphy to have postponed the May election given our past history of voter fraud when it comes to vote by mail.

A postponement to the month of June which was the original date of the primary vote would have sufficed.

Our ancestors fought and died for the right to vote. We cannot and must not allow the small minority of folks to ruin it for everybody else. If, if these allegations are true, those responsible for the shenanigans that occurred around election day should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The vote is precious and something not to be made a mockery. In campaigns, candidates should just run their race and let the best woman or man win. That's what elections are supposed to be all about. My friends, we must and shall do better.

As Lyndon Johnson once said, "yesterday is not ours to recover but tomorrow is ours to win or

Paterson let's be determined to win tomorrow.
