Dear Editor:

It is no secret that Paterson is in dire need of revitalizing, restructuring, rebuilding, and, quite frankly, rebranding. As a city, we have struggled to pay our municipal debt, to reduce crime substantially, to create sustainable employment opportunities for our youth and to provide assistance for our city’s most vulnerable residents.

Today, we face an uphill battle. It’s time for us to stop beating around the bush. Mr. Charles Florio is a man with a vision to help Paterson become a great city again. He has invested both time and money towards assisting various organizations throughout the city of Paterson for quite some time now. I think it’s time for us to individually and collectively get behind him as he works to help rebuild this city.

Politics aside, we need his help. We are a distressed city. It’s going to take money to bring Paterson back to its heyday era. As a community activist I am standing with Mr. Florio as he works to rebuild this city. I have been watching him from afar and I am convinced that he has the best interest of Paterson at heart. Instead of only offering criticism, let’s sit down with him and find a way to get Paterson back on its feet.

I love Paterson.

I believe Mr. Florio loves Paterson.

That’s enough for me to work with him. I ask you to stand with me as I stand with him.

This is Paterson’s time, let’s make it count.

Sincerely,

Corey L. Teague
