PATERSON, NJ - Reprising a recurring role he has become accustomed to during his time in office, Mayor Andre Sayegh presided over the swearing in of 16 new officers to the Paterson Police Department on Monday.

"Today we are again showed that we are starting 2021 on a fresh new page, and I have no doubt these 16 new officers are going to fill that page, and many more, with true stories of their efforts to keep Paterson safe,” Mayor Andre Sayegh told TAPinto Paterson. “Unfortunately we cannot wish away the violence or despair 2020 brought to our city, but we can, and will, work tirelessly to make sure it is not repeated.”
