City Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges

PATERSON, NJ - A 24-year-old Paterson man was arrested by the Passaic County Sheriff's Internet Crime Unit on Monday and charged with possession of child pornography.

Mohammed A Shahin, of 29 Dey Street, was arrested after sheriff's officers executed a search warrant at his home and confiscated his computer, according to a press release issued by Passaic County Sheriff Richard Bernik.

The sherif's office received a complaint in November that Shahin had sent an email that contained child pornography to another person, the press release said.

Shahin was charged with one count of possession of child pornograohy and one count of distribution of child pornograohy. Shahin was lodged in the. Paterson Police cellblock pending first appearance.  This investigation is ongoing as the computer equipment is still being examined, the press release said.

Shahin works as a medical transporter for an ambulance company in Clifton, according to Berdnik.
