PATERSON, NJ- In an effort to unite Paterson for Christmas through “melodies of unity, harmony, love, and strength,” Councilwoman-At-Large Dr. Lilisa Mimms has invited carolers to join her in singing holiday songs in all six wards across the city on Christmas Day.
“My prayer,” Mimms told TAPinto Paterson, is that are songs will "ring true throughout the City of Paterson.”
This is the second year Mimms has hosted the citywide singing celebration.
“This is so good,” Corey Teague said of the caroling endeavor in its maiden year of 2018. “This brings back memories from my childhood. I haven’t seen this for a while. This brings back the spirit of the season.”
The list of songs includes Joy to the World, Jingle Bells, Silent Night, 12 Days of Christmas, Twelve Days fo Christmas, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Carolers are invited to join together at the following locations:
9:15 a.m. - Dunkin Donuts, Memorial Drive
10:00 a.m. - Dunkin Donuts, Union Ave
10:45 a.m. - Dunkin Donuts, Route 20
11:30 a.m. - C-Town, Madison Avenue
12:15 p.m. - Madison Street and Market Street
1:00 p.m. - Main Street Library
Singers can also meet behind Paterson City Hall at 8:30 a.m. and ride on a trolley that will be making all six stops.
