PATERSON, NJ - With a goal of encouraging men to embrace support in coping with various mental illnesses Paterson based Growing in Grace Counseling will hold their second annual MENtal Health Tune-Up Classic Car Show today.
The event, set to feature a display of classic cars, free face painting, food, a live band, giveaways, vendors, and more will take place at 80 Hamilton Plaza, Between Grand Street and Ward Street, and be open from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
According to the organization's Executive Director, Sharrieff Bugg, Growing in Grace Counselling was established based on the experiences of he and his wife because they have "witnessed the results of mental health disorder being untreated."
"We can no longer be silent about this stigma which is being overlooked," Bugg said. "We want to be the helping hands embracing healing."
30 trophies will be awarded for the car's participation, and there will also be a free Scotch Doubles 8-ball pool tournament for the for 16 players, eight teams, that sign up at the event.
